crazy start to big grind day
So I'm going to be grinding alot today with the hopes of staying up all day to reset schedule, plus I'm way behind on my volume quota (1k games till end of break). Honestly I'd be satisfied if I can average around 40-60 games a day this month. As its been going I'm only getting it like 20-30 which is really low considering the time i have to grind. So ya gotta get up on that. I'm gunna start making a Cliff-notes before my post so it's easier to read, since I rant so much. But I really like it when others read this and give feed back. :)

1. Today i started out the grind after watching TRON in the movies, (great movie btw action packed, with great visuals and a sub par plot line).
I was getting in about 10-12 games at a time, which I feel really comfortable with since most of my decisions are completely standard/basic (pre-flop and flop play is pretty much like 90% of where my focus goes). Things went bad after about 20 minnutes in.
2. Besides that I ran into a bunch of pretty tough pre-flop, calling of shoves- decesions. I tend to fold like 90% of the time if it's close or if i even am having a tough time with calling/folding. I think this is because, if I'm having a tough time deciding what to do pre-flop at this limit, at this stage in my poker-escapade, then it must be a spot where my edge is small. Because of that reasoning I fold because there will be a TON more-more profitable situations. IE: I'm in the SB with AJo and a tighter, 8bb stack shoves all in 6 handed. (still 2 tables left) -I'm basically up against Middling to top Aces and like 66+ (after stoving that range i'm actually a 10% dog which i had never realized before). Being a 10% dog in a SNG this early MUST be a hugeee -EV mistake. Even getting it in as a slight favorite like 4% edge is a pretty clear mistake in these games. My mind is blown after typing that out cause I understand more fully why.
3. BTW: The other night when I hung out with Steve was fun, and I'm always inspired to learn more about poker after discussing stuff. I hope to hang out with him more before school starts, even though the SNE grind starts for him I hope he can get some time to chill. :P
4. I'm really interested in the dynamic in SNG's relative to poker. It seems easy, and is very-easy to learn. I'm much better than every reg that plays these, and have a HUGE edge over all the fish that enter in. That said though, I need to work on getting my ROI as high as possible (hopefully like 35-40% sustainable). Right now I', on a little heater for the month at 50%. After looking at my ROI over all my games on HEM, my ROI is constantly improving since the start. It kind-a just goes to show that my decesion making process has in-fact improved over the year.
5. Anyways, There were a bunch of coolers like AA cracked allin pre or w.e and I did get 1 outtered in a 3 way allin pot early which would give me enough chips to wait for the money. I was down about 60$ at one point (20 buy ins at the 3's, but had some 5's mixed in). I expect that pretty regularly, and its not even close to what a real downswing in SNG's is like (50-100 BI). But my mind and game kept wandering in and out of focus.
6. I was watching the "Million Dollar Challenge" with a bunch of donks and Daniel Negreanu fishing it up in one of those shitty-announcered live-aments. Really tilting watching these especially considering one of the worst players hinted at himself being a professional for free-rolling a crap shoot lol.
7. My game really sucked and I wasn't able to make some really basic decisions preflop (like when to limp and what-not). And I hadn't came close to ITM in any of them (and that's where the majority of my edge is in). I blame myself!
I misclicked 3xs today, 1 of which cost me an entire stack. That's the first time that has happened all of break which distracted me so much =/
I should really elaborate on a bunch of these topics more, I feel like I'm just throwing things out there but I go over it in my head a lot.
8. As for results, I'm kinda behind as far as tracking the progress of my profit/loss. I think it's because of that huge downswing I went through in November and I'm kinda afraid to look at the cash game results. But for this month so far in december I'm up around 500$ from the SNG's and various tourney play which is nice. I won't be adding in profit updates unless I change my mind.
9. Lastly, I 4 tabled 4, 4-man HU Sng's at the 2-6$ level just for fun today. I played about 25 of my sngs earlier in the day and just got bored to i loaded em up. For once I actually was entertained by poker and didn't feel like it was just all profitable decesions (even though I WAS still making +EV decesions) it was fun, and I felt what I feel like most gambler's feel when they just want to have some fun. So, If your bored and want to take a break I suggest attempting 4 tabling 2$ (or w.e buy in) HU sngs. (it's hilarious sweating the all-ins and I'm serious haha.)

Guy who initially raised pre shoved for like 7 bb's early on. I decided to min-reraise pre flop because i didnt want to play for stacks with one of the deeper guys to my left, and I wanted it to look strong enough for others to not come in the pot with hands like KQ or AQ. I expect all the other regs to fold to this and the fish will still think its cheap enough to call with underpairs and shit like that. Not neccessarily the most in-depth thought process but I felt it was okay to min raise/fold to a deep stack or tighter player. I literally saw i got it in with nuts joked and said "ha he's drawing to a 1 outer LOL" and looked back 5 minutes later to see half my stack gone =/ it was a 5$ too >:(

Gunna be a long week
Got back from turning stone late last night. Went well and I think I made about 700 from earnings, but after expense Im only walking away with about 5'something. This week's gunna be a long one with school so I'm not gunna update/play for a while. After this week I have finals next week, but I usually have some extra time during finals week because of no classes, I might play then. I'll update all my totals from last time i posted after finals week. Till then...so long folks.
