1. Hold 1 million chips in a tournament.
2. Hold 2 million chips in a tournament.
3. Make 1k in a month of play from tourneys/sngs (monthly total)
4. Tournament rant
5. Game plan?
6. Supernova!
1.

Note the live sweat by Erik ;) I'm pretty happy I was able to do this within the month of being back. It was only like a 1 or 2$ buyin, but none the less pretty cool.
2.

I ended up in placing 4th in that tournament for around 500$. It was my biggest score in a tournament to date. (although I did place 3rd in a 4$ 2 rebuy 1 Addon the week before for 400$)
3.

My hourly was around 9$ according to my HM, not too bad for a kid making it on his own ;) I ended up averaging about 35 hours a week for the month. I'm feeling really good about that. 35 hours a week wasn't the most I could've done, but it's definitely the most I've played in any given month. Sweet.
This month has been great. The results are skewed, however. I really made closer to 1000$ than what my HM says. This is because my HM doesn't track when I rebuy or addon. So it's about 200$ or so less than what the graph says.
4.This month I've made a bunch of deep runs/final tables in some tournaments which I felt really happy with. Tournaments are really soft and are a great money maker. However, the variance in tournaments is huge. With the large fields and even worse, the structures, it's really hard to make deep runs consistently. Lastly, the "good" tournaments which I feel I do really well in, do not run all the time. Not only that, but most tournaments take close to 5 hours just to get close to the money. And, it's really tough to play 20 tournaments, which each last longer than 5 hours, in one day. And you can't really mass multi-table them that easily because the dynamics and game flow have so much influence on your decisions. That said, tournaments are not what I feel I can adapt my lifestyle and monetary needs to. I've realized this after putting in about 200 tournaments in the last 7 poker playing days, and losing almost all of them. The SNG's are for sure better for me to grind. However, it'll get harder to grind those in school as I'll only be able to put in less than an hour or 2 to grind each day. But, I'm not "switching" back to cash. I'm never just going to constrict myself to any game which i get into the mindset of doing. But, I would still like to specialize in some form of poker eventually and just try to be the best in it.
5. I would like to write out some form of game plan for next semester for poker. I think I'm mostly going to be grinding the cash games, and making sure I put in as much volume on the weekends as I'm able to. Sunday's are going to be my tournament days for sure. No matter what, I'm always going to try and play the tournaments because they are insane-soft-saw. Ill probably have days in the week where i can play sng's (3's 5's 10's, whatever the BROLL is willing). The 25nl 50bb games are really soft and I'll try to get the best hourly there, but I need to re-learn and get some cash games knowledge going again. I would like to have a 4k online Broll if I were to play 50nl again. With 100 buyins I will feel ultra comfortable there, especially since I feel I can really beat those games even in my skill level now. But, the variance is huge, and the skill margin is relatively small. So, 100 BI it is.
6. So, I already have 1% of supernova accrued all ready, easy game amiright? (lol at 1k vpps) I'm going to get supernova this year. It's insane for me not to. It'll probably add 10k to my earnings just from rake back. I'm going to need at least a 4k bank roll in order to get supernova the way I want to. I don't want to be stuck at 25nl paying insane rake. With a 4k bank roll, I can see myself getting supernova in 3-4 months time. (25k vpps a month or more.) The perfect time frime for me to get it is in the summer. I'm sure I can get that 10-12 tabling for like 5 hours a day. So heres the deal, I need a decent broll ($4k) by the summer to achieve supernova and not be a frantic mess. Got it.
