So I've been googling around trying to figure out ways to make some money with the little capital I have of my poker bank roll. I came across this virtual "gold" like currency.
It's a really neat idea of a person 2 person transfer system. There is no real central "authority" like banks or the fed reserve. It's simply you and your "Bitcoins" with the option to send, receive, or generate.
Generation of Bitcoins: This is where it gets really interesting, you can generate, or "mine" these coins. (To my understanding of) The way it works is, you click "generate" in the Bit coin program, and your computer uses its processor to try and solve an equation. I guess you can label "equation solving" under Hashes. The more hashes you get the faster you will generate. However, it is obscenely hard to actually generate (a decent amount of) these coins without like 10 computers all setup lol.
Trading: There is a limited amount of bit coins that can be generated. This number is set at 21 Million. It is said that the coins will all be generated by 2040. So, now you have a scarce resource and there are open markets that will trade these coins. From looking at all the charts (google bit coin charts) you can see how much of a boom the market for bit coins is.
That's about all I know so far, I'm really interested in getting into trading, and this seems like an easy place to start. If anyone wants to try and figure it out with me, let me know!
